Two Interesting Opps: Urban Air Mobility and Small Biz Grants
Four weeks ago I started a 3 part series on the Deep Tech Market and Investment Landscape. This week I was to post the last topic that would cover financing for Deep Tech founders. But, due to some late breaking opportunities just put out by the USAF and Navy, I’m focusing efforts on a short advertising post this week. I promise to address Deep Tech investors and alternative financing arrangements for Deep Tech companies next weekend (post by 27 April). Preview — look at Indy VC and how they approach companies.
So, what’s up?
- Well, USAF just announced they pivoted their Agility Prime event to be virtual.
Over two hundred companies around the world are developing transformative vertical flight aircraft for urban/advanced air mobility (UAM/AAM), using electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL, or some prefer autonomous-aVTOL or hybrid-hVTOL) technologies. The USAF is interested in leveraging some of these technologies for their needs. Their program is called Agility Prime.
They released a Request for Information in late February- a couple of weeks in advance of South by Southwest, but then COVID hit. All events cancelled. Well, they have pivoted, and now plan to host their event virtually, starting 27 April. Register here.
